So my factory 7 pin connector has been giving me lots of trouble recently. I'm not very good electrically so I'm looking for suggestions and advice. I've done some research and know I can replace the 7 pin with new for around 180 give or take.

I was wondering if there was a cheaper option. I don't ever use the 7 pin I always use an adaptor (which I tested and worked on my father's truck) to make it a 4 pin. Is there a 4 pin kit that will take the place of my oem 7 pin that is plug in and play?

I was also considering removing the whole thing and taking it to an auto electrician. Or is there anything I should check myself first to possibly diagnose the problem? Any help or suggestions are appreciated.
