In case I get asked to pull out any friend's cars from the snow this Winter...

I plan on getting a recovery strap to keep in the Taco, any recommendations in terms of length and capacity?

Also, should I get a D-ring for the front and maybe a receiver hitch D-ring?

I'm looking at it as a "rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it" strategy.

    Any enlightened info is appreciated!

I would highly recommend the Keeper Stretch-n-Snatch. I'm pretty sure ours was a 3"....
They operate kinda like a big rubber band where you get a 'run at it' and it stretches and recoils. We've had several of these and they're awesome!!

DO NOT get a strap with built in hooks. LOOPS only.... and YES, D rings with enclosed 'screw-in' pins.

I was just trying to search for the KEEPER and can't find any webpages or information - I wonder if they stopped making them? I would look for a strech-n-snatch type strap. There's a lot of manufacturers making them. The 3" (on most sites) rate them at 30,000lbs which is plenty.

I prefer kinetic rope (7/8" x 20' rated at ~27,000 lbs) over strap, but same basic idea. A lot less sudden impact to cause damage over using chains or tow straps. Absolutely no hooks, D-rings only.
