did you put a 4wd kit on the 2wd? that spring looks a little wonky being in there. but a new spindle designed for the lift should be used

yeah look into getting stock prerunner/4x4 knuckles. the upper ball joints are MUCH higher and will probably even out everything so long as the bottom portion bolts on properly.

drunkingly browsing for a quick solution. i found . see if it might help its form 2008

The fabtech lift coil for the 5 lugs tends to bow out a lot. A lift spindle should help prevent the UCA from contacting the coil since it will sit pretty close to parallel with the ground at ride height.

I don't think you'll need to get new springs unless you think they're "tired" and could use some new ones.

For a coil to bulge I'd imagine it's lost some of it's structural integrity. Does it bounce around like an old 90s car with worn struts? Lol my 98 4x4 had tired fabtechs on it. Once it started bouncing it would just keep bouncing!! My pickup also had a previous owner who had no idea of what they were doing. I replaced a bunch of wonky shit already.

Its called Fabtech squeezing too long of a coil into that bucket in order to get travel when it droops. At ride height it will bow out like that

Doesnt really bounce to much hard to tell cuz the control arms keeps hitting the spring

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Be careful when searching for parts for this that it says that it will fit 5lug. 6lug suspension (including prerunner) is entirely different and the spindles, UCA, LCA, and shock/spring setup will not fit. You need five lug spindles if that's the route you're going to go. Also that spring is too long and the shock is a stock travel replacement, not an ideal fit for each other.

That's the fabtech lift kit for a 5 lug. The replacement shocks were about the same as the stocks because it isnt supposed to change the suspension geometry.

Essentially, the total suspension travel doesnt change. What changes is where it sits at ride height.

If you pick up a set of 5 lug lift spindles, then you'll have the full fabtech kit (the doetsch licensed their 5 lug kit from fabtech). It will lift your truck a bit higher in the front (supposedly 3" for a total of a 6" lift) and will keep the UCA's from contacting the coils.

5-lug tacomas cannot use any type of coilover without modifications. To do so, would require new lower control arms and either modification of the coil bucket or the addition of a shock hoop.
