Radio Backlighting Flickering

I have a 2012 Sport that has been in the shop several times for the lighting on my radio flickering. Toyota has replaced the radio and spent quite a bit of time troubleshooting the radio. The screen will still go black periodically but I can still hear music. I can push the buttons, adjust the volume with no changes. After 10-15 seconds or hitting a button, the lighting comes on again.

I am very frustrated with this problem. Has anyone had this or have any recommendations before taking it back to Toyota? The problem is they have to see it go out, which they have before but it is still based on timing.

It seems to be a very common problem with Tacoma radios . . .

 

Thanks for the link. This has been troubling, so say the least. At least I know it is not an anomoly.
