Hi everyone one, my name is Daniel and I'm a proud owner of a 2008 Toyota Tacoma 2.7 AC 4x4 with a manual transmission. I look forward to interacting with everyone and learning from you guys, although, I have some knowledge myself since this is the second tacoma I own, so feel free to ask questions too.

    Howdy!

Not sure if you do much off roading or not, but there are a series of threads in the Midwest forum that will keep you up to speed as far as Cincy/Northern Kentucky, Central Kentucky, and Southern Indiana off road meets/events/etc. We'd like nothing more than to have you show up at one of our rides sometime. For the most part, we're stock or very near stock trucks and with that not going to run you into some bottomless pit of a mudhole!

Anyway, good luck here @ TW, and welcome!

Welcome to the forum!!!! Truck looks good. What kind of lift and wheel/tire combo is that?

This is my first 4x4, I owned a prerunner before (3 years ago), I would definitely like to show up to one of your meets and start doing some light offroading, maybe learn a thing or 2 from you guys...Thanks!!!

Thanks man! The truck has a set of Goodyear Duratrac Lt265/75/16s, the wheels are level 8MK6 16x8. The lift is 3" front and 2" in the back, but it's a spacers and block combo, I wasn't looking for a lifted truck, but hey, it came with the truck so I don't know if I should remove it or not, maybe get some coil covers and AALs. The thing is that the leaf springs are shot on this truck, super flat, talked to a Dealership near me and they said they're gonna replace them for free eventually when they resolve the recall.

Thanks ma, the truck came all blacked out, plastidip, not bad. I live in Forest Park and work in Liberty township, 15 miles commute every day.

Here's another picture of the truck:
BTW, my truck is not a TRD, it's a 4 cylinder, previous owner got those stickers.

Our next ride will be a week from tomorrow. We'll be headed to "Blue Holler Off Road Park". It's about an hour and a half south of Louisville Ky. Also, in the preliminary stages of planning a run to Black Mountain Off Road Adventure Area, near Harlan Ky. This will probably happen either 1st or 2nd Saturday in December. (This place is flippin' AWESOME!!!)

Don't worry too much about the spacer lift. They work just fine for the casual off roader. The spacers themselves are not really an issue. Seen 'em work just fine on trucks that get hammered on a regular basis. If you plan on doing any serious off roading, I'd suggest putting a spacer (equal to the thickness of your top plate spacer) under the suspension bump stop. That pretty much solves the issue with the front shocks possibly bending when they run out of travel before the suspension does. Other than the wheels, your truck's tire/suspension is set up just about the same as mine is now. I HAD a more elaborate lift until recently when front shocks BOTH decided to lay down on the job. I went back to OEM shocks/coils for now. May decide to upgrade....maybe not. I like the ride MUCH better with what I have now than I did with the more expensive kit.

Oh man I don't think I'll can make it next week 'cause I'm working night shift and I don't want to change my sleeping schedule, but I'll go in December, maybe you can take a look at my lift and tell me how to improve it.

Another thing that's bother with my truck is that the speedometer is off but not the way I expected it, with big tires the speedometer should run slower, but mine is actually running faster than my actual speed, how does that happen? Any help would be appreciated.
