I'd avoid maxing them out. If you're looking for height you might want to go for the maxtrac 4" spindles and avoid cranking those coilovers down to zero down travel. It will ride much nicer that way. I believe the maximum stated lift is 3.5" not to exceed 2" of thread showing on the collar of the coilover.

What size lift are you hoping to get?

Per icon 2" of thread showing, 1.75" for 700# springs.

Once you have them on its 1/16th inch of thread, or 1/8" of lift. You can adjust on the truck, but its a lot easier if you jack up the side you're adjusting.

Tacomas lean to the driver side a tad, so most crank the driver side a bit more.

I have the same setup and I cranked mine up 6 full turns on the passenger side and 7 on the driver's. That put me at about level (side to side) within a tolerance I could live with. I had to lift mine because I'm running Dakars in the rear and they gave me a stink-bug stance that was painful to see. However, I immediately noticed a stiffer ride when I did that. Keep in mind that Icon tunes all that stuff when they assemble the shocks so you won't be getting all the performance you are paying for from your upgraded suspension if you start messing with the settings. Then that comes back to your intended purpose for the truck. I'm still fine tuning right where I want it to be, but that's the beauty of an adjustable suspension.

And since you're in NJ, I would strongly recommend getting the protective boots for the coilovers. Icon has neoprene sleeves that protect the coilovers from road salt and debris with will eat away the threads on the aluminum shock body and rust the collars so you won't be able to adjust them in the future. I'm on the other coast, but I know one guy that runs them out here and his shocks look a lot cleaner than mine, but I don't see the point in this weather really.
