I've got a buyer for my 07 pre runner. $14000. We meet in person, her drove the truck, liked it and he is financing through Spring Leaf Financial here is SC.

Keep in mind this is through a Craigslist add. So I'm hesitant about anything but cash.

He stated we would meet at Spring Leaf Financial here in town and they would cut me a check I sign the title to them and can go to my bank and cash the check. Also gave me the lady number he is dealing with there so I could call tomorrow and confirm.

My question is has anyone ever delta with a buyer that used Spring Leaf or a similar company?

Throughout? Just don't want to get screwed.

    Thanks for the responses.

I have not delt with (or even heard of) that bank.

However, when we sold the 2010 Taco in 2012 I met the buyers my bank. I had the buyer use certified funds and called the issuing bank before I signed the title over to confirm the funds.

Same with the BMW sold earlier this year.

Never heard of them personally despite Googling it and find there is a location around the corner from me here in OK. However, looking at their website they have quite a few locations and they are traded on the NYSE so there must be some legit-ness to them.
