A home made bed topper/rack thing that actually works really well
    Hi everyone,

Keith here. The proud new owner of a 2002 Toyota Tacoma! This is my first Japanese vehicle, as well as my first truck. I'm very excited to try it out. I have liked the idea of smaller trucks for a while, and I always thought the Tacoma was the best of the bunch.

My family and I are true car guys. I have owned many older Saabs, and currently I have an 05 Lotus Elise and a 73 Lotus Europa. I just sold an 09 Mini Cooper to get into the Tacoma. We also have a Chevy 2500HD Duramax, a 1954 Dodge Royal, Honda S2000, Mazda Miata, Datsun 280Z, Fiat 500, and other various daily driver type cars kicking around the yard. So I am not brand loyal, I just like products that perform exceptionally well at what they were designed to do. Anyway, enough about the other stuff.

I just bought a 2002 Tacoma Access cab, red, stepside, V6, 4wd, auto with 175k miles on the clock. I actually never noticed that Tacoma's came in stepside beds, but I think it looks different (in a good way) and I like how it doesn't sacrifice much of the bed space. The truck is almost completely rust free (as close as you can get in Upstate NY) and there isn't a rattle or squeak in it. It needs some cleaning, but that is about it.

I don't know any Tacoma owners in person so I come looking for a community to get advice from and bounce ideas off of.

    Cheers,

    Keith
