Same here. I've read a lot of great jet seal reviews. I was going to try it, but opted for the Meguires Ultimate Liquid Wax (100% synthetic polymer sealer, like jet seal). The megs blew me away. After that I didn't see reason to spend twice as much for the jet seal. I'd like to hear from someone that's tried both.

Can you comment on results of the jet seal on the paint compared to any other sealers (Meguires, Wolfgang, etc)?

Sorry, unfortunately no because I still haven't used it on the paint. I'm still waiting on using up all the wax that I'm currently using(Blackfire).

I enjoy jetseal from Chemical Guys. The one thing though I don't like about it is the wait time to remove it. When I am detailing vehicles, I don't like having to wait to continue with my steps and when you add something in from Chemical Guys, majority of the time you are having to wait to apply coats.

But, jetseal with Black Light is an impressive combination.

The only time I use jet seal is with a black car as I add black light with it. All other times I use other products which I enjoy more.

Thanks for the response. I'd appreciate it if you can come back and do a comparison of the blackfire vs jet seal. Would like to know your thoughts on the two.

Since Chemical Guys recommends it. Applied a generous coat of Jet Seal to these bronze TRD beadlock rims that I'm switching too.

Sealant should be applied THIN. it's much better applied with a DA than by hand, although you can do a good job by hand as well.

Lots of jet seal fans on TW. I've been doing lots of research on autogeek and it sounds like there are much better sealants out there than jet seal at the $40 price point. Jet seal gets bashed pretty good over at AG. That said, I'm sure jet seal is just fine, not going to hurt anything. Ive heard that you can pretty much use any paint sealer to seal wheels, too.

Ha I just read your other post- blackfire gets great reviews over at Autogeek. In fact, several of the guys that did not like jet seal were saying to use blackfire instead. Die hards get pretty passionate about these products.

These look great. I just picked up some Meguires headlight protectant on Amazon. Not bad but I think I will just use my ULW when the Meguires runs out. Also read that whatever you use to seal paint can go on the headlights too.

You have to take detailing forums with a grain of salt. What I mean by that is whoever "owns" the forums, it always seem they push the products they sell. Perfect example is Autogeek and Blackfire. They push the product since Autogeek is the supplier and owner (I think they purchased it back in 2011). This can be the same with any forums. Meguiars, mothers, Adams, etc. I do think that Megiuars does do a good job of referring multiple different products, even if not under the Meg's label. Adams forum is terrible. You like a different product and refer it.....locked.....

Some other products to check is "Quick Sealant" by Adams or "Sonax Net Shield" . They no longer sell quick sealant due to VOC regulations, but some third party suppliers or dealers still sell it. When I had heard some rumblings I stocked up wherever I could find them. I used Jet Seal on my black Bajas for a while and the quick sealant was much easier to apply and faster. Yours are off the tires so it does make it easier. Looks great.

I like Meguires forum, too. They're pretty good about tolerating open discussion. The focus there seems to be on instruction/learning, not simply selling their products. Considering the availability of their products, it's probably a win-win for them, regardless of the products being talked about. 9 out of 10 readers will probably end up with a Meguires product in the end anyway just because they're easy to find. Ha yeah I've also noticed there are a lot of blackfire fans over on AG! But it's nice, too, because they sell multiple brands. So a variety of products are discussed.

I've been curious about the Sonax net shield. You like it, huh?

I like Adams quick sealant better as it is easier to remove. Both products longevity seem to be the same.

The Adams forum is strictly for Adams products. After all, they don't sell other brands like Autogeek, Detailers Domain, etc.

I've been curious about paint coatings so when I installed my new Flat Black TRD Beadlocks back in April I decided to try a wheel coating. Flat paints don't hold up as well as a normal "glossy" paint so I wanted the best protection possible. So far it's amazing! Soap & water & they come completely clean. No water spots or any etching at all. Supposed to last around 2 years. It's pricey but about 3 to 4 sprays on a foam applicator will cover each side of a wheel. I did my wheels back in April & my wife's the other week. Plenty of product left so hopefully this bottle will last a number of years.

Sweet. I used a coating for the first time on the Tacoma and the wife's Accord. So far I am thrilled with the results. If it holds up anywhere close to advertised, then there really is no reason to wax or seal a daily driver anymore. Just coat it and move on. I hate to say it cause I love detailing.

Which coating did you use? How was the app/removal?
