Calm down hater. Just letting folks know gaps exist that'll let water in. Pretty self explanatory.

Not that it was any of my business, but your thread title is misleading AF. You should be more specific next time. It was titled like a buzzfeed article.

Title explains that a 2 gap exist on the bed of the truck? Buzzfeed or not it's a fact. I don't want to argue. I'm just stating if these gaps are not filled with something ,leaks are going to happen.

Furthermore I had change the title because people thought it was the covers flaw. I changed it again in hopes that I'm clearer....

My truck has same gap slightly smaller with factory tonneau. I thought perhaps a little ventalation isn't bad if the cover is not totally waterproof.

I'm surprised the cover is designed to sit that far back away from the front of the bed. Can it be adjusted forward? The nut anchors don't look like they are the right size either. Notice in the 2nd picture it's all catty wompus and not engaging both sides of the track

Yeah the channel nut is a bit small......I still need to adjust it a bit. I threw it on quickly but there is some more wiggle room.

I have the same cover and had the same problem with mine (although I have a 2nd gen) Same holes, same area leaking. Had the shop change the cover because I thought it was defective. Got the same problem. Just cut some rubber to fit the hole and use some silicone to seal everything. Fixed it just fine. Been holding up for a year now. I forgot the silly logic that the manufacturer gave for the gap, but they said the shop should have known to fill it. If you want some pics I'll post them.
Oh and make sure the middle folding section screws on the outside aren't too tight. Mine were over tightened causing it not to be flat and some water getting in.

Right on, thank you for the post! Looks like the simple fix of some RTV or silicone will solve the problem. This is all I've been trying to say the whole time. If someone gets any type of tonneau or shell, Id suggest filling the gap for a mostly water proof bed!
