Spindle lift questions, also in need of some spindle lift with 265/70 pics!

    Hello everyone. I'm pretty new to the forum, but I've read about 1000 threads till my eyes bled, and I've got a couple of quick requests, if you guys don't mind humoring me.

    My daughter is going to be receiving a 2014 prerunner access cab in the next year and I've been looking for a good lift, and tire/wheel combo. I just had a couple of quick questions.

    1. I've been interested in the spindle lift, and just want to ask if anyone is running stock setups with their spindles. I'm haven't found many, and if so, do they ride like stock? I'm interested in keeping the ride as problem free as possible, but I'm not opposed to the 5100 all the way around.

    2. With the access cab, running the maxtrac spindles, what rear leaf setups will garauntee a level, or maybe slightly higher in the rear ride? I'm not a fan of the bro lean :), no offense to those that are!

    3. This will be my daughters get around rig for years to come, so I'm thinking that it would be nice to run the 265/70/17 or 265/70/18 setup for MPG, does anyone have the spindle lift with this size? I just want to make sure they aren't too small looking. Pics please!!!

    I run the maxtracs. Love them, but I run coilovers and UCAs also. Spindles with give you the best ( stock) ride quality. 265s however will look way small. You can run a 2' block or try the Ome dakars for level look. Maxtrac makes a complete pkg. I run 285s and they even look small sometimes. Good luck.

    I'm curious how much of a mpg drop did you have with the 285's?

    1. For 2WD/PreRunners, a spindle lift is hands-down, the #1 way to go if you want 3.5"-4" of lift without sacrificing ride quality (firmness/harshness). Just get the lift spindles and use the stock front shocks/coilsprings. No need for aftermarket UCAs, funky alignment numbers, etc. It's a win-win if you're looking to be "lifted" and want that stock-ish ride.

    2. On average, the rear sits about 2" higher than the front on a stock Tacoma. So if the lift spindles provide 4" of lift in the front, you'll need a rear setup that will give you approx. 1.5"-2" of lift to achieve a "level" appearance. To get that 1.5-2" of rear lift, you can go with lift blocks/u-bolts or one of the various AALs or a combination of the two. If you only "mall-crawl", you won't need aftermarket rear shocks nor the extended rear brakelines. That's needed for people that go full "droop/articulation" on their rear suspension.

    3. The "look" from different tire/wheel combinations sized up on a lifted Tacoma all depends on the eye of the beholder. Fuel economy/efficiency all depends on the right foot of said beholder.
