I'm playing around with mounting options in the bed for maxtrax. I'm finding it frustrating to not have the front bed rails enough that I may start looking around for a front piece from a second gen.

For now, I'm curious if others have found good mounting options without the use of a bed rack or other such contraptions.

    Thanks,
    B.

Unistrut from any local hardware store will work, for the front rail.

I have not mounted Maxtrax in the 3rd Gen yet, but here are a couple of photos of Maxtrax mounted in the bed of my 2nd Gen with a Snugtop camper shell. I will be doing a similar mounting scheme in the 3rd Gen once I get a camper shell.

This photo was posted by another member in another thread. The Maxtrax fit well on the forward wall of the bed. With the third Gen you would have to add a 2nd Gen bedrail.

I think likely the front bed rail will be the best strategy.

I love your mount with the camper shell, thanks fr
for the pics. I am hoping I might do something similar, either find or get made a mount like that which only goes down from the bedrail and angles out over the wheel well. That way they can be mounted on the side and still fit under a bed cover (I'm doing a cover vs a shell).

Those are 4XInnovations mounts to which I added a strip of steel to fit the Maxtrax. You might be able to bend a set to the angle you want and add a similar metal strip that has a foot that lands on the bed side,

The cool white gen 3 sema truck has some mounted inside the bed cage. That truck has everything. Total lust!

Agreed! I noticed that today the area were the bed meets the cab has no rail system at all, only along the sides of the bed. So annoying that is where I wanted to attache my Hi-Lift. Wonder where I can get more of the rail system for that???? Anyone?

Is the front bed rail the same length as the side one? I ask because I bent one of the rails and I want to replace it

A lot of stuff, just ask and I'd be happy to tell you. Or we could wheeling/camping

First off sick! Second, if you don't mind how far up from the bed is the bottom of the bracket and how far out does the black mounting tip extend?
