Yeah I love all of the " my arms are strong enough to hold me in a crash." haha, yeah right, even if your bones don't shatter I have seen horrible photos of he arm of a rear seat passenger that had his arm locked straight in front of him but no seat belt basically stab through the seat year his hand off and shove the bone straight into the person in the front seat. People all the time. Claim they could have been burned or drown had they been wearing a seatbelt and while yeah there are very rare times you are safer without it is still never going to kill someone to have it on and if your car is underwater or on fire then take it off and get out its a one second deal maybe two seconds if it's locked and you have to cut it. But hey I don't care who wears one it's not like your gonna kill someone else cause you didn't have a belt on more like a good way to thin the population.

I've been in two accidents that were unavoidable and not my fault; had i not been wearing a seat-belt I would 100% not be here today. Anyone not wearing one has a serious daddy issue or something - you'd be an idiot not to. It's not about you and your driving, it's about the other "idiots" on the road... and guess what, maybe you're the idiot sometimes.

Agree with you on this one whipp. If big-boy OP flexing his macho muscle thinks he's man enough to survive any crash without a seatbelt, then go right ahead. The only way it'll hurt anyone other than himself is if his ejected body happens to slam into a pedestrian like a cannon ball :D

I'm all for freedom of choice, but that doesnt mean I wont make fun of people for making stupid ones :)

So people are idiots for making their own choices? 99% of people know it's safer to wear a seat belt, but some still choose not to. Some people choose to smoke, or drink, and we all know it's bad for our general well being.

As for the people who honestly think they are strong and quick enough to brace themselves in a crash.. They can get back to us once they test it ;)

I printed the instructions and performed the mod in less than 5 minutes. Worked perfectly; thanks for the info!

I carry my patrol duty bag in the front seat, going back and forth to work! It has my duty weapon and off duty weapon in it and like to keep it close. I always wear my seatbelt even on patrol, but the dinging when my bag is/was in my passenger seat is/was a pain in the ass. I performed this mod not so I would not have to wear my seatbelt but rather so I could drive my truck back and forth to work w/o have to always buckle the passenger seat belt after i put my duty bag in it. I also do off duty work in my POV which takes me on county roads at 5-10 mph checking well sites. I drive on private oil company property from well to well and its a pain to keep putting on and taking off my seat belt when I'm on private property with no other vehicles around.

I agree that it would be annoying to have it beeping at you if you were going <5 mph while doing light wheeling, that's understandable. But when actually "driving", always wear it. When I flipped my truck last March, if I wouldn't of had my seatbelt on, I would have smashed into my girlfriend who was in the passenger seat. Yeah, I probably would have been ok, because her smashed body would have absorbed all of my force, but she wouldn't have been. But personally, I would rather die than to kill my girlfriend by smashing her against the passenger door. I was never more happy with myself than when I realized I made the right choice to wear my seatbelt.

    Your choice, bro-seph.

I have the white gauges and followed the instructions, the ODO part doesn't work for me but the beeping stops after a few seconds.

Wow, the vehicle code for Pennsylvania is very helpful when seeking to turn off an annoying chime. Can You please post an update on the vehicle codes for the other 47 lower states... I am thinking about taking a Continental tour in 2058 - and the info below might come in handy for that.. (Note the unabating sarcasm)

Sadly the procedures I have been able to find (here or around the web) about disabling the seatbelt chime on the 2011 Tacoma have not worked for me.. (Computer tech so I may not have the skills to read and push buttons at the same time) however, when reading the manual, I did find a page that indicated a Dealership E-Tool required to complete this customization. Can anyone with a 2011 verify the need for dealership customization, or has a work around been found since this thread was written 3 or 4 years ago?
