Thank you so much for the insight to the Airedale! unfortunately we were too late to grab that puppy. we were working through rescue foundations, not breeders, so the dogs, young and old, come and go almost by the minute, we were a couple of days too late, and Eli the Airedale is at his new home with another family, hopefully living the good life

However......my wife and I are well aware of the unpredictability of adoptions, so we were looking at 3 or so other puppies (only had questions about the Airedale, hence the post). anywhoooooo......we ended up adopting another terrier mix. she's 8 weeks old, has beautifully soft white hair, vivid blue eyes, two different ears, and will be a good bit bigger than our 10 month old terrier. Her name is Layla, and we believe she has some husky in her. maybe some shepherd. she's been a little overfed the last few weeks at her foster home, so first order of business is to shrink the puppy beer gut a little bit. otherwise, she seems to be happy in her new home, and gets along well with her new "brother".

Here's one of my dog as a pup...one of the few times he wasn't destroying something. Blue Lambchop only lived for 2 weeks so this is right when he came home haha.

A while back I came out of the shower to find Bear posted up at the entrance to the bedroom. This is his guard dog duty position. He does this for my wife more so. Whatever room she's in, he posts up at the door. He's the best.

 

Puppies. So cute, and so much fun. And a hella lot work. But so worth it.

 

Got a couple shots today that were awesome of not only my dog but my little family.

Looking Great!! Those cold steel eyes are looking at me saying "GET ME A BIRD!".

Dan Rode is a breeder near me and one of his dogs is the sire of my younger Toller. He is a fantastic guy and when my breeder got sick at the National Specialty ended up showing my pup for me. He spent a lot of time teaching me about grooming and standards. His dog GCH Water's Edge Mr Majestyk BN RN NA OAJ WC, call name "Bronson" is the number 1 point leader for Tollers in the US this year. In fact he broke all records and is #1 point leader in history for Tollers. He is one of the 5 Tollers invited to the Westminster National Dog Show. As usual I'll be hunting Thanksgiving (hopefully) but hope he wins Sporting. Would love to see him win Show but that is a stretch no matter what breed.
