Anyone not using the Entune system?

I am in BC, Canada and am trying to setup Entune in my '16 Barcelona Red Tacoma. When i scan the VIN, it tells me its not available in Canada. Apparently, Toyota says our Cellular companies (we only have 3 in a monopoly) are not co-operative. I was hoping someone wasn't using Entune in their truck and i could borrow the vin to have entune for use up here.

what does cell service have to do with it? i just downloaded an app onto my android phone.

also, do you really need the app? i use my ipad to stream music via bluetooth and i dont have entune on my ipad. i dont use my phone since it wastes too much battery.

The have a lot work to do with the Entune app. It's really, really buggy. Pandora comes up about 1 in 2 times I try. "Tether error", blah, blah, blah.. They need to get it's reliability fixed. But streaming bluetooth - works like a champ, flawless.

My Tacoma doesn't have entune loaded even though i have the premium (non JBL) stereo. We Canadians have to download it, install it and activate it via the VIN if we can. Downloading can be a chore, as google says 'not available' sometimes when trying to load it.

I use bluetooth now, its a good connection, similar to my previous 4runner.
Its more of a 'what i can't have, i want' thing with Entune

That is because you can only register Entune Premium and not the other version. Of course Toyota doesn't really tell you that. Entune Audio Plus which many Tacoma's have can't be registered and is not compatible with the App Suite. If you don't have the NAV package (GPS) then you don't have Premium. The Scout NAV app is not the NAV Package, just a phone GPS app.

Problem is most sales guys don't have a clue and tell everyone their Entune has apps to download.
