For the first time since new I had a little trouble getting into and out of 4 wheel drive. I got the blinking 4 wheel drive symbol but it took longer than usual to engage. It did engage and disengage after going back and forth a little but I was wondering if there's anything I should do so it goes in and out faster like before. Differential fluid for front and transfer case were done about 6 weeks ago. Tia

If the splines do not line up, or there is tension in the system, it is normal for the 4wd to not engage/disengage right away. This can also happen in a manual system. What you did was correct, just rock the truck back and forward or a little side to side and it will engage/disengage.

do you regularly engage 4wd (monthly) to keep things moving and operating smoothly?

I always try to do the "once per month exercise the 4wd thing". I always do it on wet grass or dirt. I do the LSD, also. Don't forget to lubricate that driveline to. Just a few grease fittings to hit. You'll be glad you did.

Yes I regularly exercise the system that's why I was concerned by the slow response. I'm usually able to engage hi and low standing still.
