i have the chance to buy a 2003 Toyota Tacoma extended cab 4x4 5 speed with 200 000 miles. Bod is rust free but has dents and is primed. Runs good. But needs clutch or master cylinder. Has icon coil overs. Stock rear leafs. Needs some love thats for sure but I wanna build a decent flat deck. Is $1700 a good deal. 3.4

That's not bad. You could easily put 1700 more into it. If you can do the labor yourself to fix it.

Not a bad price but I would venture your looking at a timing belt very soon!!!

Myself I would just buy it for a spare

Then if it is the transmission?? is it to the point it is not able to be driven??

No fluid in the Master Cylinder??

That is the hard part if it can`t be driven what else might not work .

If the engine is good, I think it's a good deal too. Clutches are only ~$200 and you can always pull a junkyard trans. (though the 5 speed trans is pretty bullet proof) I'd say aesthetics would probably be your biggest expense, if you want to make it nice.

Raptor guard black. Friend did his truck and I really like the out come. The body on this truck has to many dings to do a god paint job. I have a 98 Daily driver so this will be a little toy. Clutch was shot. Pulled tonight and putting new one in tomorrow

    HOLY F*CK!

back to the paint thing. You can easily fix the nicks and dents it has. it already has some bondo on it, just use some more bondo on the smaller dents and spot putty for the teeny scratches. youll get a great paint job after that and be happy you took that extra step. just remember to read up on how to sand it properly so it conforms perfectly to the natural curvature of the body.

for sanding, you could use a 2x4 as your sanding block. just make sure it's level/flat.
