Hey All; having some pretty major mechanical issues out in Moab at the moment. Please PM for details, but I'm on a trail close to town - but somewhat technical....

I've diagnosed it as a bad clutch slave/master - or a failed syncro. As it stands, the clutch will not disengage - the truck will start in gear, with no clutch action whatsoever.

I'm with another truck, I winched myself to a safe location...plenty of food...plenty of water... I have my RTT...

    Truck is a 2007 2.7L, 5 speed manual.

If it comes to it, I'm not averse to replacing the transmission with a junkyard/alternatively sourced unit.

Or; if it's a clutch Master/Slave... That's easier to replace.

Watching the clutch fork on the exterior side of the bell housing, it does move. Clutch feels rather clunky.

I have HAM radio as well, and it's a short jaunt to where I have cell. So I'll periodically check here as the night progresses.

    Thanks!

    Jake

UPDATE: We Made it out!! Jake somehow managed to drive his truck through the rest of golden spike and gold bar rim without use of his clutch. I'm sure he'll post a more lengthy report somewhere but we are safe back in Bellingham now. Thanks to everyone who offered to help. This is such a great community to be a part of!
