Is there any cure for that '1 rear window open helicopter thumping' noise?

    Thanks for proving my point:
The kennel has no restraints to keep the dog in a set position, so when the vehicle tumbles so does the dog. There is no energy dissipation either, so if the crate is slammed into the ground your dog is slammed into the crate with the same amount of energy. Would you want to be in an indestructible car with no safety belts, airbags, or crumple zones? Probably not. Again, that's how most people were killed 30 years ago. Broken necks in rigs that didn't dissipate the energy.

Anyways, why post a manufacturer website. It's not like they have anything to gain. I expected more from you Larry.

    I don't disagree.
I was impressed with that particular kennel so I bought one.

BTW, I'll say for the record my dog has a seatbelt harness that has about a foot of reel line on it. When the line is let out to fast, like in an accident, it locks so the dog doesn't go flying. She can lay down though. It's not perfect either.

She hates the harness though so I only use it on highway trips. Around town she just hangs out on the passenger seat with me. She doesn't put her head out the window for some strange reason. She just sits there looking at me and, occasionally, the road.

this dog is clearly, very clearly under weight and therefore unfit to stick head out of window... oh and cute baby but... back to dogs... My overweight one sticks head out not one! but two back windows and has only proven to A: combat wind buffer noise and B: prove that our door panels are so easy to scratch even with a 20 # (should be 12#) woof-a-lot
and to date still has both eyes functional as of this writing

My (former) Dodge 2500 Quad Cab, 4wd, long bed Hemi gas hog was BY FAR the worst THUMP THUMP THUMP-mobile I ever sat in. It wasn't just annoying, it would literally hurt your ears in a matter of minutes.

Not sure. Can you confirm whether or not he was equipped to survive 72 hours if he became stranded due to mechanic failure?

It seems the seatbelt is what helps amplify the noise. I used to have a k k k k kia and when i would roll down the back windows it was horrible, i couldnt stand the thumping noise it made, it would give me a headache. So one day i just buckled the rear seatbelt, like someone was setting in it. The noise seemed to almost dissappear. Like the belt flapping in the wind was amplifying the noise. After i buckled the belt, i always kept my windows down. Maybe you can try this and see if it helps. Never rolled down the rears in the tacoma with noone in them, so dunno if it will work or not, but it really seemed to help the kia.

Well Holy SHI+, I had NO IDEA I was going to launch a 7 page response. So the bad news is there is no real fixing this noise (and as Im aware, and others have stated, its not unique to my car. ) Ill try opening the rear slider next time. My silly Lab NEVER used to hang her head out the window of my Ford Escape.....but now when we get in my Tacoma, she sticks her nose against the window until I open it. As far as eye injury is concerned, you folks make a valid argument. However, I hike with my dog, take her jogging and camping as well. Shes a dog, and shes free to do doggy stuff. Im not going to be able to protect her from every danger in the world. My lab is one of those rare dogs that usually never needs a leash. She goes everywhere with me and I even take her inside the parts stores with me. Shes a regular at Pep boys and walks around the store un-escorted looking for her favorite employees. Thats my girl Zoey in front. (My parents Lab Sadie in the background)

When I was a teen ager, I had a Lab (named Honey) that was a dead ringer for your parents dog. I ADORED that dog. Your picture made my heart skip a beat! Thanks.
