Hello I'm Snakebit a 2001 tacoma owner and brand new fourm mamber.

I purchased a 2001 Toyota Tacoma yesterday, It had been wrecked to the point the entire truck bed had to be removed for scrap. I bought a tail light assembly and rigged it up, however; I have not been able to get them working properly. I now have tail lights and break lights also back up lights but no blinker lights and don't know why. I hadn't driven it at night until tonight. The head lights burn even when they are not turned on but that's what I thought they were suppose to do. Well tonight when I turned the lights on the instrument panel was dim, I tried to adjust them but they wouldn't get any brighter. I put it in drive and started down the road, I thought the transmission was slipping really bad so I stopped at a friends house and ask them to follow me back home. When I left there I didn't turn the headlights on and was running with the day lights and the truck ran perfect no slipping at all. Every time I turn the lights on the transmission will slip, turn them off it runs fine. Is there a ghost in my truck? What has the headlights got to do with the transmission or the runability of the truck? Anybody out there know? any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Snakebit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
