    Initial symptoms:

About 4wk ago I noticed a low "groan" when driving slowly and turning sharply. Definitely related to steering hard. Over the last 2wk have had more low freq vibration at highway speed. Occasionally a squeak/whine that seems to be R front. I knew tires were ready to go, but suspected a wheel bearing or ball joint.

Spent $2K yesterday at a local Firestone. 3/8 of that was new Revo 2s. The rest was mostly replacing the rack and pinion, a tie rod end, L ball joint, and some general maintenance.

They also suggested I do a engine oil leak test because there were a lot of little oil leaks. There has never been so much as a drop on my garage floor, and it doesn't use oil, so I declined. Also recommended was replacement of the rear U-joint center support bearing. They didn't have time to do that, but thought it should happen soon.

Driving last PM I note that the steering "groan" is gone. That seems much better.

Low freq vibration starts around 30mph. Worst from 55-70mph. There is an audible rumble and you can feel the vibration, but it's usually not horrible. It is ONLY present when accelerating. If I take my foot off the gas and coast it immediately disappears. I believe this means it is drive train related.

My main q is if addressing the U-jt support bearing should improve this?

    Any other info is appreciated.

Thanks for the help. I am hoping that is the case.
