This seems odd to me, so checking to see if everyones heated seats do the same thing.

I turn the heat/seats on when I leave home, then go wherever. Park the truck & come back a while later and turn truck back on. Heated seats are automatically on.

Other vehicles I have, they will not be on again unless I turn them on..

Seems a bit Odd to me that they will remain on, until they are manually turned off. (they are only on, when Ignition is on)

My audi is the same way. What style of switch does the '16 use for heated seats?

My Mazda and our Sienna both keep the butt warmers on through a start cycle. In both cases the switch physically stays in position so it's understandable. I only bring it up to point out that it does seem to be a common way for butt warmers to operate.

Good news for remote start preheating.

When you add a remote start this feature makes sense.

All Toyotas do that because the switch is like a light switch.

Not sure why this is odd or a problem.
If you butt was cold before going into the store I bet it will be when you come back out.

Not true, the empty seat heats up. I noticed this with no one in the passenger seat, but the seat had been left on by my wife. Which is why I brought up this thread.

My wife's '11 Sonata has a physical switch which clicks into position for high or low, so the bun warmers are on until you turn them off.

My 02 BMW 525 has a repeated contact switch to turn on and adjust. push once for high, twice for medium, thrice for low, and four times for off. If the bun warmers are on when you turn off the key, they are off when you restart.

I guess either way is acceptable.

Neither one of our cars has remote start. It's just an electric resistance grid, so the seat warmers warm up if the seat is occupied or not.
