I replaced the front struts on my '09 dbl cab and after having an up close and personal look at the front brakes it looks like calipers and rotors are on the menu.

Any suggestions on brands / suppliers and pros and cons will be appreciated.

After a little snooping on the web there are lots of options but I figure some recommendations from the forum would be a help.

Why are you replacing the Calipers? Maybe you meant rotors?

    I suggest OEM Brake Parts.

Only replace the calipers if you have uneven wear and it's NOT brake hoses or If they are leaking.

    I second OE.

I went with ebc pads and medium priced rotors at Napa if that's what you're asking?

As far as rotors go, I got them from Pepboys the last time and they have held up great. On my second set of pads and no warping.

The truck has 115K on it (my fourth Taco) and from past experience at least one of the pistons will seize soon. The piston boots get tired and the Northeast winters / salt eats up the pistons big time. I'd rather swap out calipers now and not have to deal with it with snow up to my nuts.

Just figured I'd throw it out there.

I do tow a trailer occasionally and wondered if the HD slotted rotors were worth a try.

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
You could switch to steel brake lines if you want a firmer brake feel. I did this to my fronts and I tow and it makes a difference. Feels more responsive. Cheap and easy to do. Besides that I'd leave the brakes OEM.
