Need someone to help take my tailgate apart

My tailgate on my 2013 Tacoma is jammed shut. It won't open. Thinking it's the little slow release cable on the left side that jammed it. I will give someone $20 for them to help me release it without destroying my tailgate. Not sure if there is a way to remove it when it's still latched. It's stressing me out and just ruined my day. . I live and work in Mesa. Anyone around later tonight after 6ish. Or any ideas or recommendations are appreciated.

Take the screws out on the plastic cover inside and yank it off. this will give access to the mechanism. You can do it.

 

Oh ya !!! Good idea. Lol. Gosh how come I didn't think of that.
