Looking to see what's involved. Want to plan this out and get it done. See lots of questions for different setups. Searched a little but didn't find any write-up with pics and whatnot. Even if it's not specific to my needs I'd like to see what's involved. Probly gonna have my brother do it for me whom has all the badass tools. Just wanted to make sure there's nothing special involved to help speed up the process. As well as any suggestions on what gearing to do.

Also my Speedo is off about 5mph. I'm guessing this will be affected even more so with the re-gearing. Read a bit about getting bigger tooth gear for the Speedo as well. Like a 33 tooth or something? What's involved with changing this as well? Pretty easy to do that myself?

    2001 prerunner 3.4 w/33x12.5 on 15x10's with ~2.5" lift.

    TIA.

Let's not attack the noob now. ;) Ha. Just got tired of searching for all this info. Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: even if it's just where to get the parts. As I have no clue. My brother can figure out the rest if y'all don't wanna bother with all the details.

I would suggest contacting @ECGS (East Coast Gear Supply). They have been one of the main "go-to" vendors for anything Toyota Diff. related and can provide good technical advice.

On my 2nd set of gears / lockers from ECGS (went from 4.56 to 4.88) their customer service is some of the best in the industry.

Sweet Thx a lot guys! Gonna take all this in and prepare. Still learning. The truck was lifted by previous owner with a spacer/block lift but nothing else was done. I've replaced simple stuff but nothing this serious. Biggest job I've done was the timing belt/water pump. And some camburg uca's.

And just got done replacing some cv axles (first time doing those, but on a car, which was easy peasy) so haven't had time to look at any of this info today. But from the looks of this so far, seems like it's a job. As I said my brother will probly be doing all the work. He's currently working on his rear end on his 93 dodge, an air locker or something I think. Which I think is more involved than this so..
