Entune / JBL rebooting

Has anyone experienced the entire head unit rebooting?

Appears to happen while using Nav with XM at the same time

 

lol they still haven't fixed that? that was happening on the 2014+ 4runners.

 

I guess not. Now can only attribute it to when my wife plugs her phone into the USB. Hmm

Had there been anyone nail down the causes. Or anyone else experiencing this on their new Tacos?

 

Same issue happened with Entune on the 2nd gen trucks.. there was a TSB, don't remember what it entailed.

Try searching the second gen forums for an idea.

 

Only with the JBL units?

 

I've had it happen a few times on my 4Runner. System seems to work fine after it's done doing it's thing. Can accomplish the same thing by pressing and holding the on/off switch if the system is slow or not working normal...I've found.

 

When my wife's S6 would sync up in the 4Runner, the Entune would reboot. Figured out she needed to delete a bunch of her text messages. No further issues. Hope this helps.

 

its because Samsung likes to set text retention at 1000 per thread and 100 mms per thread. what happens is the head unit times out on the transfer since its trying to transfer too many dam texts and either fails or reboots.

set it too around 50-100 texts and about 20-30 mms.

this was already mentioned and resolved on the T4R forums.

 

Sounds like an unhandled exception in the software. Do they ever release updates for these things? I've never had a car with a touchscreen UI with apps and such but if they release updates I'd check to see if you have the latest software.

 

most likely not your taco and a data xfer over load.

 

Mine is not the JBL, it is the premium package Entune with apps, and it has rebooted over 20+ times in the past 2 weeks ive owned the truck...
