I got my console safe and have it installed. I watched the YouTube video that said all you needed to do was pull the inside bottom matt, remove two bolts, insert safe and bolt it in place.

This is what you really have to do.

    1. Remove 5 screws from inside cover of lid (You must remove the console lid to get safe to fit into place)

    2. Remove 4 screws to remove lid from hinge.

    3. Pull the two hinge mount covers on either end.

    4. Remove 2 screws from each end of hinge and remove hinge.

    5. Remove bottom matt

    6. Remove 2 bolts.

    7. Discover holes aren’t aligning with safe.

    8. Use drill press to get holes to match (12 gauge steel so I would us a hand drill)

    9. Insert safe.

    10. Install old bolts or new, both will work (May need larger steel washers).

    11. Insert new bottom cover.

    12. Set combo.

    13. Close safe lid.

    14. Reinstall lid hinge with 2 screws on each end.

    15. Reinstall lid hinge mount covers.

    16. Reinstall lid with 4 screws.

    17. Reinstall lid inside cover with 5 screw.

    18. Yeah, you are done.

Now the good news is that the instructions that come with the safe gives you pictures and step by step instruction on how to remove the console lid. With drilling and removing the lid it still only took 30 minutes to install.
