This is my first post. I live in an area of wooded mountain roads that are quite dark during the day. So I looked at the front of my Tacoma and thought daytime running lights. I went on e-bay and bought 1200 Lumens High Power Chip LED White 194 bulbs for my corner lights. I then cut the feed wire on the factory plug (the green one) and tapped it off. I then ran a wire to each light tied to the 20 amp fuse in the interior fuse box that provides power when in the engine run position. The results are below. Very bright when you step back 50 feet.20151116_150258_resized.jpg 20151116_150407_resized.jpg

2000 Tacoma 4x4 2.7 with 256,000 miles and counting. All original with 1 clutch and valve job at 220,000.

This year Tacoma did not come with factory running light that stay on all the time automatically all the time. The factory lamp bulbs are 194 wedge bulbs that are like 5 watt incandescent. In California it is against the law to drive with your "parking lights"*** on at any time. But DRLs are legal. I should have did a before and after photo . 600 lumens each sorry. I just cut and pasted the description from the place I bought them from.

***that is what the state calls them:
CVC 24800. No vehicle shall be driven at any time with the parking
lamps lighted except when the lamps are being used as turn signal
lamps or when the headlamps are also lighted.

Nice welcome to the site smartass for my first time posting. My last one though.

    Thanks,
The last redneck in Northern California

I just cut and pasted the description from the place I bought them from.

Well you could have just used switchbacks in the blinks which would be more visible and no cutting, just a relay and switch back bulbs.you could also have tapped a wire in the steering column for the headlights to be "DRL" but oh well. If my comment offended you I apologize but you wouldnt last long on here anyways if that offends you. Its called the internet. Smartass.
