Changed your mind about purchasing a '16?

Just wondering if anyone else out there in TW was on the cusp of purchasing a '16 (I was) but have changed your mind since reading about the myriad of "issues" that have surfaced throughout this forum?
I don't particularly want to, but i'm increasingly leaning towards waiting until the '17 comes out, with the hope that some of those "issues" are tweaked/rectified. I know that some of these things (Entune, for example) can be resolved with software updates, patches, etc., but some of the other things may require more in-depth attention (vibration, etc.).
I'm not expecting a problem-free vehicle when I do purchase, but I would like it to be close. I know that there are tons of current '16 owners that have ZERO or minute issues, and that's grand! Every vehicle I have purchased has been (knock on wood) a solid, problem-free one. I would love to keep that track record (as out-of-my-control as it may be).
Anyone else was ready to purchase but has decided to wait; or changed their mind completely?

    - All my love,
    Z

the only thing that is keeping me on the fence about buying the 16' was not because of any problems from first year production, but the fact they didn't offer the Tacoma in TRD OR Access Cab with a 6spd Manual, but some how Canada gets one. Other than that, everything else is miniscule.

As you allude to, this "myriad of issues" is generally minor and/or rare issues being raised by a vocal minority. Which ones specifically have you concerned enough to not buy the vehicle?

This was my stance with a 2016; when people have issues they voice their complaints, but how many people don't have any issues?

If you go to the beach and have fun, you may tell one person.
If you go to the beach and see a shark, you will tell ten people

It's usually around 10:1 for bad to good when people speak up and make themselves heard

Exactly. Same thing happens in the skiing industry when new binding iterations come out. I've just accepted the fact no one vehicle is going to be perfect, the question I ask myself is how many "defects" am I willing to tolerate?

Only reason why I havent purchased my truck is my wife. She wants to wait until her SUV is paid off early next year.

I have no problems buying the first year of a new model vehicle. I've purchased 2, first year vehicle (FJ Cruiser and G37 coupe) and havent had any major problems with them.

Other than that, Im looking at a DCSB TRD Sport

Pedal vibration, BSM, Entune, howling, engine surge, tuning mirrors (sic; lol).
Like I said, I know most of the vehicles are likely fine and issues will persist throughout every make, model, and year. I do think that some of these will be addressed sooner than later and that some of them will be a permanent fix, though some maybe not in the very near future.
I am in no way stating that the vehicle is a "bust", just noting that I see the same concerns popping up throughout the forum (almost daily). Leads me to believe that there are widespread issues, even if they are of the minute variety. Instead of me having to open a ticket, maybe those bugs can be addressed in the short term and lead to a less-taxing ownership.
This is only my rationale. I was just wondering if anyone else is of the same mind.

First you need to ask the question are you going to tolerate defective thought? I agree with Z50, very small percentage of people who complain. Most of these minor issues (pedal vibration, trans hunting) settle down once the truck starts breaking in. The trans needs a couple thousand miles to settle.

I would be confident with buying a 2016 and the manual trans, or the old 2.7L and the 5 speed. But I do have concerns with the new V6 and 6 speed auto...time will tell I guess.

What changed my mind for buying one NOW was that the dealership we called had one allocated to them. They are the only one in the state who has one that has not been spoken for, as of last night. They had 2 7568 allocated to them and both are held to names now

We were going to wait a few months to buy, but that changed our minds

GM never addressed the "door seal" issue on the 2016 Colorado. The lying dogs told me on my 2015 Colorado that the engineers were aware of the problem and were working on a fix. Told me it would be a year before the fix. Started off telling me a couple months ago they would have a fix before winter. This was a lie which I knew so I traded it in on my new Tacoma and cut my losses. I like my 2.7 allot better than the V6 Colorado. Fun to drive..
