I have an 03 tacoma v6 4x4 with a some towing package so I have different 11in brakes than normal trucks. I just went through and replaced the front pads and rotors as well as the rear shoes and drums. After we did the fronts the brakes worked fine but after we did the back the pedal would go all the way to the floor but if you pumped it then it would get hard but slowly creep all the way down if you kept pressure on it, so we replaced the master thinking it was fluid creeping past but that didn't solve it. The ebrake is tight and you cant move the tires by hand so its not that they aren't adjusted and we didn't brake the line until we did the master so there isn't air in the line, we bleed it anyway and it didn't solve it. Also if you keep your foot on the brake when the truck is off then start it the pedal drops to the floor as soon as it starts and i cant think of why it would make a difference if the truck is on or not. I'm stuck I have no idea what else it could be, no air in the line, new master, new fully adjusted brakes.

Forget something on one of the rear brakes when installing . Now it fell apart??

You didn`t get your right and left adjusters mixed up by chance??

Now that the shoes are seated in the drums they might need to be adjusted again

Then there is always the chance your new brake drums could have been boxed wrong if the numbers on the boxes match what you ordered . This happens all to often anymore.

Poor quality control on the drums and they are just to big.

Well I did adjust the brakes again and the shoes are right up against the drums, I can tell because the ebrake is very hard to pull now and I cant move the tires by hand when its in neutral, also I did the brakes one side at a time so nothing is mixed up. Is there any way to tell if my clutch master or slave cylinders are bad, the clutch still works but I was just wondering.

Losing Fluid out of the Clutch Master Cylinder Would be a good way to tell.

Leaking into the cab the sweet smell of brake fluid.

Clutch pedal goes to the floor and stays there.

Back to the brakes Bad Master Cylinder you swapped in

Poor flare connection pulling in air It can pull in air but not leak fluid.

The problem ended up being that the drums were bell shaped.
