awesome. Hopefully you come out with something similar for the 2016. My wifes truck will be a daily drive but will need to make it to some camp sites on the weekend.

The two back bolts for the IFS are carriage bolts. It looks to me like the round ends of those bolts will slide over stuff pretty well, and even if they are damaged they would still just slide right out if needed.

Thanks. Didn't know they were carriage bolts.

Go to Zach's website and leave him a message: prinsudesigntstudios.com
He always gets back to me in short order. You'll love the skids!

FYI the oil plug hole in the ifs plate doesn't line up on the 2015 truck.

I've emailed zach, we'll see what happens.

    Quite disappointed.

I will get you taken care of. I am a little surprised to see a discrepancy especially between the 2015 and my 2013 but that is how it goes with these vehicles. I would have been less surprised to see the difference between the pre 2012 models and the 2015.

zach and I are both equally surprised on the variances between model years and he has graciously offered to refund me for the skid.

I would like to get the Skid Setup! Zach, you ever run any random deals? I am torn between getting the skid setup or going for the rack. Eventually I will have both! If my funds ever recover

@zscott I am curious about the oil drain hole. Ease of use? I have a Fumoto valve installed. Think there would be any issues?
    Thanks.

Nice stuff! I really hope Zach takes this concept further! (bumper to bumper products). I have used 1/4" aluminum and aluminum/steel hybrid skids on vehicles as heavy as 8,000# with great results. It really depends on how you wheel. If you are capable driving with finesse, then plates like this are perfect. If you are a crash and bash driver, then... maybe not so much. The benefits of light weight armor are many. There is far less strain on suspension and drive train components. That means fewer breakdowns in the wild places. Gas mileage is better. Installing removing the plates is easier. The overall impact on GVW is less, which means more capacity for gear. I have owned my truck for 6 years and there are just a few marks on my armor. I'm tired of dragging around 500# plus of dead weight, when all my needs could be met for less than half the weight. My 2 cents :)

How well does the oil drain out of these skids- and can you add the oil drain valve from (RCI) I believe is the brand?

How would I order one of these skids, I don't see them on your website?

I am not selling them right now. Possibly in the future but had some fitment issues so until I can test on a few more vehicles besides mine they are off the table.

:( And I just found this thread! Curses. Please don't give up on the concept. Lightweight armor = + for me.

Edit: oh, and I volunteer to test.
