I am pretty new to this forum so I apologize if this is the wrong place for this question.

I just bought a used 2000 Tacoma Xtra cab and I noticed the passenger seat was a bit loose. The seats are split bench seat where the passenger seat is separate from the driver/center seats. I noticed this when I reached over to turn and look over my shoulder when reversing. The back of the seat moves freely a few inches. Has anyone else had this issue? Does anyone have a solution?

    Thanks in advance

check the floor bolts for it, they are probably loose. if not wiggle and see where it moves and tighten those bolts.

The seat bolts are usually secured with thread locker so that they do not loosen. If they are loose it is a good idea to reapply some thread locker.

I'm having the same issue on my 09 Prerunner drivers side seat. It's loose on the left side of the seat, did tightening the bolts do the trick?

Had the same issues. Read somewhere about taking one rear floor mount bolt out of seat and adding a few washers. This creates a slight bind in the seat rails. I did it and seat is definitely quieter.
