I have been lurking for a while and just registered as an official TW member. Late last July I bought my first Tacoma. My truck is a 2014 Off Road DCSB Prerunner. It had 21k miles when I bought it and it now has 25K. So far I love it. I have also enjoyed lurking TW to see all the great Taco's and the mods many members do on their own. While I salivate looking at the other Taco's I will probably be less aggressive in how I mod my truck. I primarily bought my Taco to tow an 18 foot boat and a small pop-up trailer. The Taco also has to serve as my daily driver as well as haul my wife and 2 teenagers. I tend to prefer the stock look on my vehicles so my mods will be more subtle. I don't foresee a lift in the future of my truck as it will see little off road time. Mods for me are primarily geared towards creature comforts or protecting the Taco. So far I have done the following:

    - Clear bra coating to the front 1/3 of the hood and front end.
    - Panavise mount paired to a Proclip mount for rock solid smartphone holder
    - Extra dark tint.
    - Slightly larger Michelin tires (265/75R16)
    - Kicker hideaway subwoofer.
    - Alpine Power Pack 180W amp added to factory Entune plus stereo.
    - Tailgate mod using the hose clamp.
    - Stainless bolt and wing nut through my bed mat to hopefully slow an opportunistic thief from stealing my mat.

I would like to eventually add Weather Tech mats and upgrade my stereo speakers. Once I do those items I will considered my truck fully upgraded and modded to my needs.

I do most of my maintenance when I have time but sometimes I do break down and pay to have the work professionally done. It usually comes down to available time. 7f8dd99a66ab5c548f0613fbb9499b2f_587c9a3f1d29ce476aec3dd4a275a7dfccbe698e.jpg

Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself.

Welcome! Beautiful truck. I'm like you with my mods. I'm considering do upgrade to sound system, did adding the sub woofer and amp make a nice difference in the sound for you?

The sub and amp did make a huge difference. Best part is I was able to salvage the sub and amp out of the car I had prior to the Tacoma so it it was an almost free upgrade. I like the the factory deck, especially with the voice control button on the steering wheel, so I am trying to improve the sound without a deck upgrade. The amp is small an sits behind the factory deck and my sub is behind the rear seats. Still have a factory look which is what I like.

Did you install it yourself? Is it all just plug and play basically? I really want to enhance the sound a bit without spending thousands on it.

It's not plug and play but it's also not difficult to install. Took a half day for me to install where a professional could have done it in 1-2 hours.

Welcome to the forum! Would you mind sharing how you wired the AMP to the factory system as well as the details on the sub wiring. I just changed out all my speakers, new components and rear door. I'm thinking of adding an amp to the factory H/U and and looking at the Kicker 11HS8. I was thinking under one of the front seats but I don't want it to stick out the back, may have to put behind rear of back seats in my DCLB.
