Friends, I've used this site and all your collective knowledge to perform quite a bit of maintenance on my truck...thanks for everyone's insight, instruction, and assistance.

Wonder if someone might be able to help decipher what the noise behind my dash is. Seems to only happen when it's cold...only on initial startup...once it starts, it doesn't matter what key position it's in, fan and A/C settings have no bearing, radio has no bearing....can even turn off the vehicle mid-whine and the whine will continue. Sounds like a pump pressurizing something, or electronic feedback whine...just can't figure out what it is. Positioning is directly behind radio in dash.

First time posting a video (youtube) so hopefully the link works.
    Thanks,

Sounds nuts ... might be the radio stuck trying to eject a CD? Remove the radio and unplug it from the back (should take 5 minutes) and see if it does it again.

Thanks...Radio doesn't have a CD player...Bluetooth unit. I have pulled the radio, to no avail. I've popped the hood to see if it is on the other side of the firewall, don't believe it is.

Shouldn't be the air injection pump, it doesn't turn on when it's under 40 deg. outside. Maybe a vacuum line came loose or something.

Ok...sorry to waste your time...I can be a dumba$$ sometimes. Thought I had removed the radio before during previous investigations...but went out to do it again...its definitely the radio. Something whining inside the unit. $100 bucks for a new stereo....and it will be solved.
