    It's less Tacoma and more mod
    I'm personally a fan of the WIX air filters you can get at O'Reilly's they have many nicely spaced pleats and they catch dirt great. Plus when you need to change them they aren't very expensive. Many on TW will say the aFe filter, and I agree that they are certainly better than a K&N (really even an old tube sock is) but the power gains are negligible from changing the air filter so why not get the superior protection of a paper/cotton filter too.

    Really the aFe is a good choice if you are looking for a washable filter, I'd rather have all the protection possible so I can tear around in the dust and dirt beating the crap out of the other parts of my truck.

    I don't have the stock box anymore. Long gone, circa 1999.
    I have the K&N after market CAI with the cone filter.

    Just tired of the MAF getting oil no matter how light I go.
