What fuel type do you use and what benefits have you noticed?

I'll run premium when I gas up the atv because it has to run it and I'm too lazy to run the pump twice. Otherwise just 87

I use regular 87, but if I have the opportunity to buy Top Tier Fuel I will.

I use 87 regular with no problem. Isn't there some information on TW indicating that to realize any benefit from burning higher octane gasoline, the computer needs to be reprogrammed?

Engine computer will adjust timing itself to the fuel - ie reduced pinging, more advance.

The only reason you'd need a higher octane fuel is to help eliminate ping or knock. Running boosted cars and bikes for the better half of my life, this is no secret. Where I live 85 is available and it's just fine. These motors don't produce enough compression in the engine to even think about wanting higher octane fuel. Slap a turbo or supercharger on it then your talking. But as is stock motor really no need.

87 no ethanol or 91 no ethanol. Depends where I'm at.

I only use midgrade and gas up at shell and chevron stations because of the additives

I only use 93 octane from a local Shell station. I know it is not needed for our trucks but it is the only station that carries no ethanol. At least that's what it says on the pumps. That said I really have know way of knowing. I also remember a test done by "Fifth Gear" over the cheapest grocery store fuel too so called "posh" fuel such as 93% Exxon, Shell, etc... They were testing more for HP than MPG's but found there is nothing wrong with regular fuel but found a 8 hp gain in the most expensive fuel. Now that doesn't really mean anything for me and most likely none of you. But "my" rationale is that it isn't hurting the engine and as long as I can afford it that's what I'm going to run. It's run on 93 octane Shell only since it had 16 miles on the odometer.

Octane the owners manual calls for at the cheapest station I can find. Bottle of Tectron in the last tank before an oil change.

Never had a fuel related issue in any vehicle, even with 7k redline motors.
