i just bought a pair of buckets on line out of a 97 Hilux to go in my 95 Tacoma. I had them shipped 1500 miles and the seller disregarded to tell me they are from a right hand drive. It looks like they will fit but the one with the lumbar and seat depth will be on the passenger side. Is there any way to switch the sliders from left to right?

I bit the bullet and went to install the buckets, three holes lined up and the fourth is off the hole but still covers the mounting plate on the underside of the floor. The seats are in great shape and I want to put them in. I'm thinking either drill a hole through the floor or get a plate welded on the mounting bracket and line it up and drill the plate. Any ideas?

get a thick piece of metal. something like 2 inch by 4 inch that's 1/4 or 3/8 inch thick. put 2 holes. 1 mounts to the existing hole in the floor, the other one is used to mount the seat to. There will be height variations because of the thickness of the metal and the heads on the bolts, but just do your best to minimize this issue.

maybe bolt down the plate too the floor, shave the head off, and weld it. all I can think of.

I don't recommend drilling another hole, since there's probably a nut welded to the bottom of that one, that's what should be holding it together. plus, if you drill where the new hold is, there might be structural walls or framing there that is getting damaged.

Buckets are in, should have shampooed the carpets. I reamed the hole in the bracket and used a carriage bolt so it sat flush to the floor. It took a bit of grinding on one bracket but all in all it worked out pretty good. The seats are higher and don't slide back quite as far as the stock 60/40 but it works for me.

good job, a little late but I was going to say just swap the seat tracks from the seats to switch sides for them so you get the controls you want for your seat.

you could still pull the seats back out and do it so you can clean up the carpet and paint those rusty mounting points.

The seats aren't in very good shape plus I'm in the Yukon so it would cost a small fortune to get them to you.
