I've been a lurker here for a while now, and the one thing that almost everyone on this site agrees on is that spacer lifts are bad.

I'm pretty new to this so bear with me...

I have a 2012 Tacoma Access Cab with a Toytec 3 inch spacer lift (the spacer is at the top of the spring if that matters). The ride quality is garbage when i'm going over 40 mph, and i'm worried that I could ruin my suspension if I don't change it.

What kind of lift should I switch to that gives the best ride comfort. I don't off road at all, and I would like to spend around $500.

Or is there anything I can do with the current spacer lift I have to make my ride better and keep my suspension from falling apart?

Are you running your stock shocks?

$500 isn't going to get you far, but I'm guessing your alignment is suffering at 3" on stock control arms.

What exactly is going on with the ride after 40mph? Wandering? Skittish steering?

A little bit of wandering. But it feels like I can feel every bump and pebble on the road.

I was looking at this kit. Would this fix the ride problem and still give me 3 inches of lift?

At 3" of lift your highway speed driving is going to be less than desirable if you are using stock upper control arms. I think you would benefit more from a set of SPC control arms and a good alignment.

Yes don't get Camburg's as I just did because at 3 inches you will not get the alignment how you want it.

Could you recommend any specific products?

And would the SPC control arms increase the longevity of the rest of truck?

If you NEED 3" of lift for some functional reason, then you probably need to save more money for proper components.

If you are only into 3" for looks, and aren't willing to spend a lot, you might want to consider less of a lift.

Every choice made is a compromise of some other feature or function. Including the wallet. ;)
