I would say the volant. Those power core filters are awesome. Absolutely zero maintenance on those. The afe pro dry is just like the oiled ones, without the oil and still need to be washed/blown out from time to time. I have the volant kit for my 01 and am using a universal powercore filter on it instead of the oiled one it came with. As that's what's only available for 1st gens. I did try the oiled filter first but it gunked up the intake and I wasn't having any more of that. Anyways.. I haven't had a single spec of dust in my intake since the power core. But, replacement power core filters are pretty pricey. I would check the prices on those vs the afe first. But the power core might last longer than the afe filters, Idk much about afes. But the power core ones are good for 100k/4years.

I'd go for volant myself. Cheaper and your not gonna get much more for the extra money going the afe route.

And wait for black Friday!! Autoanything (not sure if they have it or if they'll have deals, someone will though) has pretty good deals on them.

As long as it is a dry filter. Do not use an oiled filter.

    Waste of money.

    My .02 cents.... so I'm $425.00 - .02 or $298.68 - .02 ahead.

    Just sayin'
