    Okay
Didn't know that thanks. I thought they were both solid lifts for Tacoma's.

Was considering OME but what I heard people say about the ride of OMEs and how they like IKONs better. I thought I ask why this way but I guess not.

I did a lot of reading about suspension upgrades, I went from wanting OME, to Icon, then decided on King. I'm still saving up for the purchase, it's a lot of dough for me. You can't go wrong with Icon or King in my opinion, but they do perform differently, progressive vs digressive.

    ICON / KING / FOX / Sway-a-way

Pick your color of rebuildable coilover / shock, as they essentially are the same shock. FYI My buddy just went kings in all corners as this was the most afordable from downsouth motor sports.

They are WORLDS better than your non rebuildable shock as far as performance

OME is great for your budget lift where you dont need rebuildable shocks. BUT after seeing them, their quality is OK, they are gas emulsion which is less then ideal, id rather have the 5100's or 6112's which have separated gas and oil.

It all really depends upon how much money you want to spend and how serious of an off roader you are. OME is a solid lift for the weekender and once in a while'r. Icon and especially king (more money and better ride quality ) are for more of the serious offroading experience. If you really don't go offroading much king or icon might be a bad option. Don't forget bilstein 6112's .....they are kind of a half way point between the two of those.

King, Icon, Fox, etc. are fully adjustable, rebuildable, and revalvable (pretty sure that's not a word). They are also much better at dissipating heat.

I thought OME were coils, you could 5100 Shocks in them if you wanted am I wrong?

you could. OME (arb) sells coils and shocks. You could pair a 5100 with an OME coil, lots do to get a better ride as they arent preloading the stock coil, but rather using a more "proper" coil for the lift they want to achieve.

I'm pretty sure you can buy OME coils or OME shocks separately, or pair them together. Someone coorect me if I'm wrong.

5100s and OME coils are one of the most popular ways to lift because they are decent quality and very budget friendly. I wouldn't recommend that combo for jumping dunes in the desert (wouldn't recommend a full OME Kit for that either though), but for daily driving and trail riding, they work very well.

I have had 5100 struts and OME coils on my truck for almost 20k and the ride is still great!

I would not recommend ome kit or the spring 5100 combo. Buy 6112 they come with an eibach spring, they both achieve lift, the 6112 is larger diameter than a 2.5 c/o.

They are made bc someone at bilstein rode in a friends truck with ome/5100 and laughed!

As someone who presently has an OME with 885x's, I wish I went ICON. The suspension sucks. i liked it at first because it was the new shiny thing in my life. Now i realize it was a mistake. I have 50k on the suspension, and if i decide to keep the truck, i'm putting ICON struts underneath it.
