Hey, I'm new to TW, I just bought my first tacoma last week and love everything about it with the exception of the dreaded 15-25mph vibration. Is anyone else dealing with this? I will be bringing the truck in next week to see what can be done to hopefully resolve this issue.

Nope its definitely not rpm related, truck is smoother than anything from 30mph+, while at 15-25 rather it be cruising, accelerating, or braking, the truck vibrates/shimmies. Its the oddest thing, while in that key mph i have dropped trans into diff gears to see if it was rpm related with no change. Im scratching my head with this and don't think ill be able to live with it. Before i become a negative Nancy, ill crawl under the truck and probably check the fasteners and make sure everything is tight, and bring it to dealership to see if they can fix it.

Some of the OR's have had out of balance tires. Check your wheels for excessive weights maybe?

Will do that Tacogram! My only worry is that my dealings with out of balance wheels and tires usually rear their ugly heads at higher speed, but I'm not to proud to try.

Just trying to help. Others have had a little vibe issue but it seems to be rpm related, between 2300-2500 rpm

Take it back to the dealer and tell them to fix it, if it's that bad maybe

Just checked my wheels, and boy i have never seen that many weights on a wheel before in my life. Each wheel is packed full of weights, and that is my plan, to go to dealer and get them to either fix it or give me a new truck. The funny thing is, when i test drove the truck I actually focused on the 2000-2300rpm range because of what i had read on here but never focused on 15-25mph vibration because the issue was supposedly resolved.

You and me both, it is kind of nice to hear no one else having issues, giving me faith that it is something easy.

OP, I am getting the same vibes; mine are between 20-27 mph. Feels like tires to me. Mine is pretty subtle but always there in that speed range. Not accelerator related. Smooth as glass outside of this range. I've had the truck one week and wasn't too concerned since I am switching out the wheels/tires tomorrow. I may go out and see how many extra weights I've got.

I have an OR and took the truck back to the dealer after a few days because I could tell the rears were not balanced properly. It turned out all 4 were out! I could only feel the rear on the highway at 75+mph. I would start there at least...cheapest route. Ask them to verify one

The dealer rectified it in my case, so no harm done.

Good luck to OP (and G52) on sorting the issue out

I've been in the garage counting up the weights...LR-3 weights, LF-5, RF-3, and RR-11. Didn't see any counterbalancing, i.e., they are all clustered in one row using the same size weights. Anyway, I'll give an update tomorrow.

On mine I had atleast 9-12 on each wheel in one row like you said no counter balance, I can't believe the amount of weight used, I'm thinking that has to be the problem. Looking forward to your findings thanks

Put your phone on vibrate, place it your back pocket; go sit down. Now give me your phone number and I will give you a call:)

Its not a buzzy vibration, its a vibration almost like a driveshaft is out of balance or of an unbalanced tire, sometimes the vibration almost feels like it makes the truck shimmy. Its the oddest thing, sorry if I didn't describe very well its just that I don't know really how to describe it. What is even more weird is its not really consistent, some drives its worse than others.
