I don't think they're available yet. Most places say November is the earliest they'll be available.

I thought they were the same thing as the m/s 2, just renamed.

I'm curious about these too. I can't get M/S2 in my size but these defenders are showing up instead.

So I just bought 4 of these from town fair tire. They're all mounted up and installed as of this afternoon.

I'm not sure what I can say, they feel great so far. Ride seems nice and smooth and responsive.

They look the same as the M/S. But a very nice looking tire. I am a huge fan of Michelin's. I just got the A/T 2 and love these tires. I have had the M/S in the past and they where great tires . Good choice OP.

Look just like my M/S2's. Except the sidewall is different. Tread looks about the same to me.

Not close ups but you can kind of see my M/S2's here:

I payed 730 out the door mounted balanced and a poor alignment.

BJs had the best price I could find in store. 159 I believe. Tire rack was 149 but shipping was an extra 100

I got town fair tire to match the bjs price. I think Costco was the same. They were both offering them for 159 each and a coupon for free mounting and balance if you bought 4. Maybe check their websites?

The Defender LTX M/S is basically just a realignment of Michelin's tires to integrate the Defender passenger tire (90k mileage) and SUV/LT LTX M/S2 into the same overall line. The tread is 99% identical but the tread compound is modified, the biggest change is LT tires go from 70k to 50k mileage warranty. I work for a tire distributor and we've been moving quite a few the last couple months. It's a rolling change so not all sizes are available yet.

I ended up getting some in p265 70 16. I wrote Michelin and they basically said the new compound allows better traction in cold and wet environments, so it should only be better than the ms2's
