I come from a performance background and was thinking of fabricating a turbo kit similar to the STS Kit. What do people do for tuning on the taco? I'm use to fast, big stuff 3, hp tuners and sct. What companies make a customer user interface like these? I am looking to be able to tune fuel map and spark with the ability to log data. If this isn't possible without going standalone system such as aem or halltek, etc I'd prob just drop a ls1 in. Thanks for any info.

Thanks. That's what I figured. Piggyback or stand alone.

And the TRD blower I'm not looking to spend a fortune when I can do most anything myself.

    Thanks for the quick reply.

Modify your taco any fucking way you want and I will blow its doors off with one of my spark plugs unplugged. Its a truck. They are great trucks but its never going to be fast. My car does 170 from the factory and pins your ass to the seat. A rocket motor in the bed of my Taco wouldn't do that. You buy a truck to haul shit and go off road, not to go fast. Geez, tuners are in a fantasy world.

Why are you even in this convo? You haven't a clue on said topic. So go unplug a spark plug. And if all you can do is 170. Might want to take it back to the store.

I don't think the object of adding more power to an off-road truck is to go 170 or set any 1/4 mile records. Not everybody uses their trucks strictly for hauling loads to the landfill.

Just because someone is interested in tuning a truck doesn't make them enter a "fantasy world". People modify trucks everyday to get better mileage, towing capacity, and even the pure enjoyment of a faster ride. That's not saying they're wanting a dragster for weekend runs. Your two previous posts are ignorant.

    My Maserati does 185.

Seriously though, cool your jets. More power doesn't have to mean strictly straight line dragster performance. Since it's a truck and he's wanting to lift, I'm guessing he's probably going to take it off-roading which, rumor has it, is benefited by increased power.

I've ridden in 3 of the 4 above and would consider those trucks "fun to drive" not really fast.

Fast is a relative word I guess. Brother in law had a stock lightening. 0-60 is 5.5 seconds. He could easily keep up with stangs and camaros. Not calling the above trucks fast is asinine.

I probably should have mentioned that the Lightening was the quickest of the ones I've ridden in. =one of my favorite trucks.
