    Not all of us are lucky enough to have off roading in our backyard :p

    Other things from family to work come before wheeling for me over the past few years. Not going to stop me from building my truck the way I want to for when I actually get to wheel.

    Yea but you're looking at the ko2s right? The 34s run small anyways. Be like getting a 255/85r16 but it'll just be wider. I don't see an issue with those tires.

    Lets set aside the discussion on whether or not more clearancing would have to be done or not. It is pointless even talk about that until I have them and they are mounted and flexed. Only way to know.

    So the other side is cost. In addition to new tires, new rims would be required. About $800 there. Big brakes will be an extra$3-400 over a standard brake and disc replacement. So staying with 33s and regular brakes would save ~$1200.

    Yes, but i also take advantage of them when i can. I love to take the lines that everyone else won't.

    It is his rig and money. But, i don't think he has used it in two or so years. Just seems pointless since he hasn't even pushed the limits of the 33s.

    The 17s are about $85-90 more per tire. :eek:

    edit: All that for an extra 1/2 inch of ground clearance.

    I saw him post in the 25% off thread that he stopped making them because they weren't selling, priced to high if ya ask me, and that only he could make them in his shop and wasnt worth his time.

    I read some quote from him that said something to the effect that the original design meant he had to do them all. That none of his guys (who ever they are) were able to make them. That was the reseason for stopping and for the re-design.

    Hardly. That's no skid.

    Although the bottom of the axle is plenty strong. It's the bolts and drain and fill plug and rear of the diff housing that Im glad is protected.

    Yea we do. Dual elites for me, and the rear is extra special. Mikes rear bumper too sorta.

    You're right, it's been about a year and 8 months unfortunately. But, like I said, for the times I do wheel in the future it will be nice to have. Tires definitely won't be wasted considering how few miles I put on the truck either.

    I've met limits on my truck with 33's. But that was before I had an aftermarket bumper which was the most annoying issue.

    Hopefully soon I'll be moving to somewhere where I'll get to wheel enough to both mine and your satisfaction :p

    yea think i spent what..1000 is parts or something?

    Granted, the tubing i bought was special order..and only used 3/4 of it. But everything else was scrape sheet metal so i figure even if i bought all new without using the large tube it would be the same.
