Great info man. I really appreciate the details. You should start a build thread, I want to follow. I do not need any serious off road tires and pretty sure the C load will work just fine. Did you have to replace UCA's with a 2.5" lift? Any downsides to the lift like vibrations etc? I have been on the fence doing a lift for a long time but keep stumbling upon issues and vibrations threads. TIA

Tire manufactures will have a minimum width for any given size. I don't think you'll find any 275 or 285 tire that will be in spec on a 7" wheel. That said, people do it all the time. Hell, even at SEMA I think they had a 285 mounted on this showcase wheel. Now, whether or not you'd run into legal/warranty issues if something goes wrong while being out of spec, I have no idea.

    Truck looks awesome, Elayhu.

Totally forgot to mention that I replaced the UCAs with new ones from Light Racing. From reading tons of info on this forum I decided to go ahead and "do it right the first time" and get the UCAs. My alignment is perfect and I'm not sure I would have gotten it to where it needed to be without them. The UCAs were the biggest pain in my ass during the build but I'm glad I went ahead and did it.

Had slight vibe between 45 - 50 mph then again between 65 -70. Also got them when slowing down between 20 and 10 mph. I've added the OME carrier bearing drop kit and that got rid of the vibes between 65 -70 and make the 45-50 vibes barely noticeable. I've got 2.5 degree axle shims that I'm gonna put on soon that, from what I've read, should take care of the rest. From all that I've read everyone's experience is different. Some get vibes, some don't. Some say vibes drive them insane, others say no big deal. I'm pretty anal about my truck so I opted to attempt to get rid of them. Again, to me they weren't that bad to begin with but I want it to ride smooth.

This is my daily driver and my wheeling usually consists of forest service roads and hunting trails but I want my truck to be able to handle a little more just in case I get a wild hare! :D:D:D

Thanks PoweredBySoy. Its still a work in progress but I feel like I've got a new truck sittin' the driveway. :D:D:D

Oh man the so-called vibes....that would drive me insane on a brand new daily driven truck but then again the truck looks tits so its all good.
Wondering if going with different components like ome lift kit instead of billsteins have anything to do with vibrations

Don't think so...it's really about the two piece drive shaft design. Any lift creates different angles than stock which in turn causes the harmonic vibes at certain speeds. If you have the money (about $350-$500) you can have a custom built one piece drive shaft that totally solves the vibe problem. I'm on the frugal side and try to save money when I can. If the shims don't get rid of the last of my vibes I may go that route.

That makes sense. Do you know any manufacturers of such one piece drive shafts ?

I haven't done the research to find a place yet. I'd probably just google custom drive shafts or something like that...should get you started in the right direction. Good luck and keep me posted and I'll let you know how the axle shims work out.

Are any of you guys running the SEMA wheels on stock suspension? I have a 2014 DCLB TRD sport on stock everything but i just bought these wheels. I want to keep the stock size 265/65/17, but the KO2 only come in E load for this size. Can i run the 265/70/17 C on the stock suspension without any rubbing? Even if its rubbing while turning lock or turning up a steep driveway, how bad is it and will it eventually cause the fender to wear down with a hole or shred?

6112s and 5160 , Dakars , Superbumps x4 , u-bolt flip , All Pro Skids (hacked and raised) , 265/70R17 KO2s, SEMA wheels, couple of machined things here and there

I run the 265/70/17's load range C KO2's on these rims and they occasionally rub on the mudflap. Its not bad and I'm not worried about it. Worst case scenarios my mud flaps will wear out and I'll have to ditch them. Definitely am not worried about the fender

As everyone says its the front of the front flaps right? and only during lock to lock turning or turning up a steep driveway but not during normal driving.

Maybe a little lost here. It's rubbing the front mid flaps on the front wheels. Is it the flap towards the back of the truck or the small part in the front closest to the front bumper.

DAmn that looks bad ass. I guess is just the luck of the draw, some people with rub..some without..I guess i'll just have to try. Been waiting too damn long for my wheels and still pissed off at Olathe.

Thanks man. I think the size I have shouldn't rub on any taco. Lots of folks here are running same size tire stock height without issue.

What's the issue with Olathe? I got mine from them rather quickly

Yeah a couple people on this threat like above "lostsheep" he rubs on slightly on his truck with stock suspension too. The main thread https://www.tacomaworld.com/conversations/new-17-trd-wheel-shown-at-sema.1908923/ for this talk about lots of people rubbing with 265/70/17 only when turning lock to lock. I think i'll go with your set up. with the KO2 in 265/70/17.

heres the link to my experience post #189

Glad you got a refund for the damaged wheels. That's not Olathe's fault just lazy fedex handlers

yeah ridiculous, but was hoping he could at least send me a new set. I had to scram over to americas tire right after work today to order the KO2. They are having a black friday deal. 100 bux visa gift card back, and then another 70 rebate from BFG. So i'll be paying about 850 for the tires installed with the certificates. They are just gonna hold the tires until i come back with my wheels. whenever i get them hahaah

Let me clarify just there is no ambiguity, mine are rubbing the main front mudflap (not the tiny one all the way in front). They have a slight bulge on the inboard protrusion, that's where mine hit.

Ive got a 3 inch with aal in the rear and want to toss some air bags in too but was concerned they wouldnt have enough reach with the lift installed. You indicate the Firestones work fine for you. Do you know the model number of these bags?
