The vendor is interested in doing a group buy for the 2016 bakflips for the 3rd gen guys. If this happens, I will add you to that list so you can get one for your second gen. Keep your eyes peeled.

    The purchase period closed bud.

I can add you to the next list, see my comment to @TRDRACER above.

There's gotta be something we can do for the guy... he's in the military. I'm sure they were up to something and that's why he couldn't do it...

That's what I am working on right now, I would love to hook him up right now... If we can't do it now, it will be in the next group buy. He PMd me his contact info so I can contact him when we're ready if that's the case.

OK, so I finally got to installing mine while the wife was putting the little guy to sleep tonight. So here goes my "review" and sorry in advance for the "book".

I'd like to start off by saying a huge thank you to Ramon for putting this Group Buy together. The guy definitely hooks everybody up by putting in his time and effort in doing these things, so... THANK YOU!

Next, I'm not very mechanically/installation/automotive inclined. No problems in admitting that. So this is all fairly new to me. Never really got into this sort of thing before so learning as I go along.

Package came in Monday afternoon via FedEx. As expected with any shipment, there were a few marks on the outside of the box, a few rips, but nothing serious and nothing out of the ordinary from what I am used to seeing not only at my job, but packages received at home as well.
    20151116_165358.jpg

Upon opening the box, everything inside seemed OK as I suspected. The packaging job seemed really good. They used the spray foam stuff that I have seen being used at a vendor my company purchases products from, as well as our warehouse using it. So good job on the packaging!
    20151116_171200.jpg

As far as the installation part, not being very good at this sort of stuff as I mentioned before, it took me a lot longer than I'm sure it did most of you, or will. Being the "perfectionist" I think I am and like to be, it took me quite a while to get the side rails installed and placed correctly. After much doing and undoing, I "gave up" and went with what I thought was an OK job. After that, I placed the cover on the rails, snapped it in and fiddled with it quite a bit to make sure the lips were where they were supposed to be both on the rails, and on the front and tailgates. I think I placed them well enough to cover all sides and hopefully not get any water in there. Obviously I did not use the draining tubes as I did not see where and how they could be installed, but kept them just in case. The rest was fairly easy, so that didn't take much longer.
    20151117_224150.jpg 20151117_224743.jpg 20151117_224651.jpg

Sorry if the pics look crappy. It's inside my garage and lighting isn't very good in there.

With all of that said, I think I did an OK job, but I think it'll need to be tweaked a bit to see if I can get it to be more "flush" mounted as I think it should be. So not a product issue, but more of an installer/installation issue. Again, new at this. I think all sides should sit and fit much better than what they are now. Especially on the tailgate, since it doesn't quite sit on there like I think it should. The only "downside" I see to this is that I can't use the stock rails and have the bed cleats mounted as the cover rails cover the stock rail up. That's not a bad thing since I'll be primarily using the cover in the winter, to keep snow from pilling up in the bed and then hauling it around.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. Definitely please with the quality of the product for sure. Was using a crappy/cheap leather cover just to get by, and this is by far way way superior. I even think it's better than the cover my buddy has on his Tundra (he also has a hard cover but a bit different), and I think he paid a lot more than I did.

@Cativelense thanks for the write-up! I'm pumped to get mine and put it on!

Did you notice a gap on the cab side? I have heard of guys on some hard tri-folds putting in some extra Lowe's weather-stripping to fully weatherproof that side.

I did notice that, and there is a bit of a gap. I didn't take a pic of it because I completely forgot. In the box there is a long strip that's probably meant for that, not sure if the other peeps that already installed theirs used it or not, so hopefully they'll give their input & feedback on that!

I do have a question though, for everyone on here. Can you and how do you drive with the cover open like you would a soft cover?

After receiving my package last week, I finally had the time to install my Bakflip. I opted to upgrade to the FiberMax. Installation went easy, I also installed the optional bakflip hooks to the rails. Looks super sweet!

Thanks @ramonortiz55 for setting this up and to the vendor for fast shipping!
