2016 WINDOW TINT

Are the windows on the 2016's tinted from the factory?

 

Only the rear doors and rear glass have a light tint To them. I went with 5% all around and 80% on windshield.

 

I went with 20% on my driver and passenger doors windows to match the side rear windows.

 

I did 35% bt I only have to windows.

 

The windows behind the driver and front passenger are privacy glass which gives it a tinted appearence. Tint can be applied over privacy glass to make them darker, but you cannot make them lighter.

It's debatable on the actual Visible Light Transmittance (VLT), but I would speculate it to be in upper 20% to the lower 30% range without having used a meter; 0% being the darkest and 100% being clear. The driver and front passenger windows will generally range from 70 to 80% from the factory.

 

Do the back windows on the double cab roll all the way down?

 

Yes, the back passenger windows roll down all the way.

My fronts have both auto up/down for both driver and passenger windows but no sure if that is standard or part of the premium package.

 

My rear windows on a DCSB are tinted (privacy glass). The dealership added tinting after.

 

My rear slider window also has the auto open/close feature. It's nice. It will auto-close if I get out and forget to close it also... NICE feature, I think.. I think it's part of the Canadian premium upgrade pkg.

 

I just got my windows tinted, pass/driver, the privacy glass comes out to be about 18%, I got 15% on driver/pass and from outside it matches but on the inside the privacy glass seems lighter which is the darnest thing. I will probably get 50% put on back to just kind of make inside appearance match better.

 

5% on all four doors and rear slider, 55% on windshield.

 

You forgot the moon roof...???

SR trim does not come with tint on any of the windows.

Does it really?? I asked the dealer if I could get it and they said it wasn't available or an option. If they'll sell it in Canada we should be able to order it in the states?

Front sides are just a shade lighter from the outside; everything matches from the inside.

 

Your Tacoma has a power sliding rear slider? .... I would like a picture or confirmation from others as I haven't read or seen this one any models.

 

What state do you live in to need that dark of a windshield? No tint can be applied to the windshield below the As1 line in Washington, which means only the top six inches can be tinted.
