Ei brought mine to an audio store and had my Viper install works great I also had them install that new keyless enter and for some reason that would not work correctly so they installed another one and the same think. So I had them take the keyless entry out but the Viper remote start works great, it also works from my iPhone

Most Dealers will send it out and charge you more, just take it to a audio store other than Best Buys . Go to a place where they do nothing but stereos and remote starters. That's what I did and it works great. I had the viper install where I can start it with my iPhone.

Best Buy did a great job on my Viper install. I'd go with them over a dealer for sure

I ended up going to the dealer. Its funny the dealer where I bought the truck wanted more to do the job and only gave a 1 year warrantee. I went to another dealer and they gave me a 3 year 36k mile warrantee. Since my truck is new i went with the dealer and with the longer warrantee. The starter they put in is Automate which is the company that makes Viper and a number of other brands. Price was 399 installed - 4 button remote start- a bit higher than an outside shop but I was more comfortable with the dealer doing it.

    Hope that helps others

One note: The remote works beautifully and has amazing range. However, unlike the OEM keyfab the horn does not sound on locking and unlocking the doors. The light flashes which seems to be sufficient for me.

The horn beep thing worked when I had my Viper installed. I asked the installer to disable it as my experience was that neighbors and people at the mall would give me stink eye with the unnecessary beep beep. Only 1968 Charger Roadrunners should do that.
