You can have the chrome bumpers off my 02, complete with all the divots which wouldn't show up on the new truck. Another upgrade.

As with most anything you do to your truck, the warranty is only voided if Toyota can prove the modified part caused the issue. If you spend "most" of your time in the woods you're going to want a aftermarket winch bumper asap

I'm amazed to hear these covers hold up so well...would not have guessed that. Appreciate the replies. Really like the truck, guess I just like traditional bumpers.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Should have kept your 02! I like the looks of the 2016's myself, but so far they haven't really impressed me much otherwise as of yet.

I like the composite bed. Just coat it with a couple coats of brush in liner and slickness is gone. Stuff stays in place.

I've noticed some dash buzz/vibration during acceleration. Trying to get used to it, but the more I head it, the more I want to fix it....anyone else notice the vibes, or is it just me?

I have zero complaints about the 3rd Gen. Hearing the masses whine about the front end has made me consider getting a different grill, but thats far off if I'm being honest with myself. Hey, if you like chrome metal bumpers better, good on you. I personally dig the truck the way it is. Glad you are liking it

Get use to plastic people. With the new gas miles federal regulations slated for 2023 which cars and trucks must meet You will see more and more plastic on cars and trucks which makes them lighter for gas efficient I am willing to bet that by then that 70 percent of the engine components will be some sort of plastic

Am waiting for my 2016 (any day now). My 2010 Taco has a Plastic Bumper in front (No issues) and a stocker in back- The only damage was the bumper after getting rear-ended by a Neon that was likely totaled. My 2001 Taco had an ARB and that's a REAL bumper. Would never want to rear end anything with that. Heavy too - had to beef up the front springs (used ARB there too)...Clay

The best thing about a Taco is the aftermarket. Don't believe any vehicle is gonna be perfect. The little things would not have steered me away from my new truck. A few mods to make it mine. The tonneau cover has grown on me. It really wasn't an option. Sale person said I would have to special order the OR without the cover...pretty much standard on the Sport, OR, and Limited. I'm guessing the cover improves gas mileage requiring so many production units have them installed to claim said mileage.

I have non tech package OR. Didn't need dual zone or the driver assist features. Only pet peeves so far is that I can't get an instant MPG number until I shut the car off and see the trip summary (If I can other than on the ECO screen of the Entune please let me know). Also, no auto headlights but I have heated mirrors. Kind of funny that is the case.

I know on the info screen it shows actual mileage as your driving as it fluxuates with RPM's. Gives the driver a general idea where your gas mileage is running. Actual mileage, as you stated at the end of that trip. Don't believe there is a way to check while traveling...to me a non issue.

A lot of people are putting on the SR5 Black grills or plastic dipping their grills. I like the front grill. The aftermarket will catch up in the next 6 months and there will be a lot of options. I've seen some pretty creative ones already on this forum.
