Dumb question. Is there an iTunes update available for Windows? Either way it looks like this is beyond my infinitesimally small level of expertise. Hope you get it sorted.

Oh, and the old adage that has to be injected here. "Did you try turing it off and back on again?"

 

Yes I have Itunes 12.3 And yes I have uninstalled and reinstalled Itunes and still the same Problem so who knows. Just tried to update to another Computer and it still will not backup to the cloud

 

It's possible your phone is synced to another library on another computer.

Have a Time Capsule for backup purposes. Recently moved, haven't been able to backup in over 2 months. New house has ATT u-verse and trying to reconnect to my time capsule to backup. However, it gets stuck on the "looking for backup disk" step. Tried going in and reselecting the disk but it doesn't fix the issue.

Side note: can access my old backups no problem. did try resetting the TC and that didn't do anything but take me 2 hours trying to get the TC to reappear in my airport utility. I do remember last time I had u-verse (about 3 years ago), it was a GIANT pain in the ass to get it working.

Anybody running ios 10 on an Iphone 5 ?

 

I know it's killing people's battery life right now. Probably an apple way of forcing people to upgrade.

 

I read a review that the battery usage was similar to ios 9 on an iphone 5

 

Hmmm didn't think it was possible, but I guess it is. My phone didn't alert me to download it. I'm running great on 9.3 and I'm not sure about the upgrade...

 

Macbook Pro running OS X Yosemite, will be Sierra in a couple of hours though.
iPhone 6 running iOS 10.

Problem: Cannot sync my contacts from my phone to the Macbook. I only have 1 iCloud account, and on my phone and mac the iCloud settings are all in sync, but the contacts refuse to show up on my mac. Any help?

 

I was having a similiar problem, I just resynced my phone with my computer (I back up to the computer, not the cloud) and restarted my phone and then they appeared. I also have all my contacts backed up to Google as well though...So this may not be helpful to you at all.

 

I am waiting for a download to finish and I will restart, dunno what else to do other than sync from phone to gmail then to mac which is ... annoying to say the least

 

I also use a Samsung phone on occasion so all my phone numbers are on there as well as my computer's address book. Double insurance because losing phone numbers is the worst.

I find iTunes to be really aggravating. Is it because I'm a Windows user that's not used to Apple's work flow, sort of how console gamers don't like playing games with a keyboard/mouse and PC gamers don't like using a control pad?

Anyways, I deleted some podcasts off my iPhone 6 Plus to make some room. Then I go to my computer, open up iTunes and I see several hundred podcasts missing. The podcasts still left in iTunes show that i have to re-download them. But when I use Windows Explorer and look in the media folder the podcasts are there.

I'm gonna go and research this but I would appreciate it if someone could help a potato out. Thanks!

I also have copies of the missing podcasts on an iPod Classic. If I sync it to include podcasts not in the library would that restore everything?

Now all my music and movies have to be "redownloaded" despite being in their respective media folder. Is it a matter of simply adding those folders to the library?

Adding those iTunes media folder eliminated the download icon but now I have duplicates of every file in those same media folders, which resulted in loss of hard drive space.
